Waiting for Santa

Santa was cruising the neighborhood tonight. He had so many children to see that he didn't make to the our street until 9pm, which is almost 2 hours past bedtime! Anyway, we had so much fun. We baked cookies and watched Polar Express (with Teletubbies on the other tv of course) and we waited and waited. Finally, we heard the chirping of the sirens so we bundled up and headed outside. Rick and I could tell that Santa was still several streets away, so we opened the back of the car and sat in the trunk with our coats, beanies and blankies. As Santa got closer, you could hear the siren get louder and with each chirp Carra became more and more excited. It was amazing to see their faces when he finally came down our street. And then he stopped to say HO HO HO and to hand out candy canes. It was a short moment out in the street, but it is a memory that I will keep forever. I just love to see the look of wonder on Carra's face (and the look of fear on Carina's). These are the moments that make me strong and keep me going. This is truly going to be a great Christmas.

Ahhh the amazing Santa.... I was just at a shopping mall in White Plains New York this week and as we were heading to a meeting we stopped at the Santa display and enjoyed watching all the kids get thier photos taken... some couldn't wait, some could, some cried, some hugged him like a teddy bear...
it was a great moment and made myself and my co workers feel like what we do is just so not rocket science...

hope this week goes smoothly for you - we will miss seeing you @ Kerry's...

OXOXOX

Susie: Love to read your stories.
My mother in law also had breast cancer when she was your age, and with three little boys at home. She's now 80, and also survived a bout with colon cancer just about 20 years ago. I donated $50 to the american cancer society in yours and her honor. God loves you, hang in there! Yes, it's going to be a great Christmas! Lots of love Susan Rasmussen
